Student Grants
Every student has the right to an education, but heavy fees in private and public colleges can make college tough to pay for. It becomes difficult to even afford the other expenses that come with being in school, such as books, room and board, meal plans, etc. There are numerous organizations that provide financial aid and student grants to make education easy and affordable for you. Cal Grants is a great way to get money to pay for school and not have to pay this money back.
Apart from college scholarships, university student grants and outside awards, you may get financial aid and student loans in two different ways: federal financial aid (based on need) and merit-based. Need-based aid is determined by considering the Expected Family Contribution (EFC) and the total Cost of Attendance (COA). On the other hand, merit-based grants provide free student grants based on academic performance and sometimes in combination with financial need.
A state-based grant is one of the most common types of merit-based student grants in which students with certain GPAs and income levels are awarded money for their college or school education. At Calgrants.org, you may apply for student loans by submitting the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) online between January 1 and March 2 along with a verified Cal Grants GPA between November and March 2. You will need to fill out the FAFSA form to be eligible for a Cal Grants award .
