Checklist of important documents that will help you in completing the FAFSA

If you don't have every one of these documents, that's okay. Come to a workshop with the documents that you have and that apply to you.

Driver's license, if you have one
Social Security card or number, if you have one
Alien registration number, if you have one
Your 2013 income information
Parent 2013 income information
Individual Taxpayer Identification Number (ITIN) - yours of your parents'
Your tax and parent tax information; previous year taxes are okay for now if you don't have 2013 tax information
2013 bank statements
Any records of untaxed income such as welfare benefits, Social Security benefits, or child support payments
List of colleges you are interested in attending

Win a $1,000 Cash for College Scholarship

High school seniors

  1. Attend a Cash for College workshop, submit an exit survey
  2. Submit the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) by March 2*
  3. Submit a verified Cal Grant GPA by March 2*

One qualifying senior will be randomly selected from each qualifying workshop after the March 2* deadline. Scholarship recipients will be announced in mid to late May 2014.

The scholarship is for use beginning in Fall 2014 at a qualifying 2 year or 4 year degree granting college or university anywhere in the U.S.
